Privacy Policy

CueVerse is a free online multiplayer pool game, built and run independently. This page explains in plain English what data the game collects, why, and what we never do with it. There's no legalese here because there's nothing to hide: no ads, no trackers, no selling data.
What we collect
Your account
- Username and password. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes — we can't read them.
- Avatar and in-game settings you choose.
- Google Sign-In (optional). If you sign in or link with Google, we store your Google account's stable identifier and email address so you can sign in with it. We never see your Google password, and you can unlink Google from your profile menu at any time. One Google identity maps to one CueVerse account.
Gameplay
- Match records: results, ratings, wins/losses, and streaks — this powers profiles and leaderboards.
- Replays: completed games are archived (the rack and every shot) so they can be replayed in the in-game viewer. Replay links shared outside the game only work for games whose players opted in to sharing.
Chat and messages
- Private messages (inbox) are stored so they can be delivered, until deleted.
- Lobby and table chat is live conversation — we don't keep a general chat history. However, chat is screened by an automated moderation system (which uses AI classification), and lines that break the rules may be logged together with the sender's username and IP address as part of the moderation record.
- Friends and ignore lists you build are stored with your account.
Technical data
- IP addresses are recorded when you register and sign in. We use them only for security and fair play: preventing abuse, enforcing bans, and detecting cheating or rating manipulation.
- Browser storage (localStorage) holds your session token and preferences so you stay signed in. We use no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics trackers.
What we never do
- No ads, and no ad networks watching you play.
- No selling or renting your data to anyone, ever.
- No payment details on our servers. If you choose to support the game, payments go directly through PayPal or a crypto network — we never see card numbers or wallet keys.
What's visible to other players
Like any multiplayer game, some of your info is public by design: your username, avatar, ratings, match history, and (for opted-in games) shared replays. Your email address and IP are never visible to other players.
Who we share data with
- Infrastructure providers that host the game servers and database process data on our behalf, only to run the service.
- Google, only if you use Sign in with Google — their handling of your Google account is covered by Google's privacy policy.
- Legal requirements: we'd disclose data if validly required to by law, and only then.
How long we keep it
Your data is kept while your account exists. Deleting your account removes your account data — profile, ratings, messages, friends, and linked sign-in identities. Moderation records (bans and their reasons) may be retained where needed to keep enforcement effective.
Your choices
- Play without linking Google — a username and password is all you need.
- Unlink Google, change your password, or manage your profile from the in-game profile menu.
- Want your account and data deleted, or a copy of what we hold about you? Contact us (below) and we'll sort it out.
Security
All traffic between your browser and the game runs over encrypted connections (HTTPS/WSS). Passwords are hashed, never stored in plain text. No system is perfect, but we keep the data we hold to the minimum the game needs.
Children
CueVerse is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced in-game or on our Discord.
